A key principle of any in-school research undertaken by the Loughborough Learning Alliance (LLA) is that there must be discernible benefits for students. Research must focus on improving student outcomes and must be forward-thinking.
By referring to current educational research, engaging in structured reflective practice, and considering the reasons and justifications for any change to practice, teachers in the LLA can make informed decisions about the merits (or otherwise) of particular aspects of their approach to teaching and learning, both in their own school and more widely.
Collaborative working across the Alliance enables member schools to share outcomes in a way which maximises the impact on improving the quality of teaching and raising standards of attainment across a wide range of institutions. Schools are able to combine efforts, share any learning and so build on research findings to provide evidence-based outcomes that ultimately provide a better experience for the students in all LLA schools.
