Overall this aims to improve the quality of teaching and leadership within partner schools.
Membership of the Loughborough Learning Alliance includes the following benefits:
Working with other local schools, primary, secondary and special. Staff across all roles have the opportunity to visit each other, share practice, expertise and workload, and collaborate on curriculum and policy development.
Working with other schools further afield. This is particularly useful to encourage more challenging conversations and a strong outward focus and awareness.
Access to forums and networks. Professionals are updated with and share latest developments and outstanding practice in their specialist area. Schools’ CPD requirements are identified and resources developed. Critical friend relationships are established.
Taking a lead role in School Direct Initial Teacher Training, from trainee recruitment and placement to high quality training for NQTs and an Appropriate Body service.
Preferential access to high quality continuing professional development (CPD) at reduced rates. A wide range of short courses, professional development and accredited qualifications for staff at all levels.
Engagement in school to school support activities that have impact. Access high quality expertise where it’s needed and provide support for other schools in areas of strength. Bring on talent in your own school and recognise high performing staff.
Commissioning input from National Leaders of Education (NLEs), Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) or our NLG (Governance). Designate outstanding leaders and teachers in your own school in these roles and develop those with the potential.
Increased opportunities to bid successfully for project funding, including National College, LEEP and Maths hub, as part of the collaborative.
Engagement in and leadership of educational research and development projects.
Access to and support from the dedicated LLA teaching school team.
Attendance at LLA Board and dedicated primary or secondary head meetings to influence and shape the work of the teaching school and its focus on your priorities.
